Muskies may at times behave differently from most other fresh water fish. For one thing, they are extremely curious. Muskies are legendary for following lures closely, but often without striking. And on the videos they were seen to do some other interesting things around the cameras and lures. The following video shows some particular muskie behaviors, including: (a) Attacking the camera itself, (b) Swimming up high and looking down at the camera and lure below, (c) Following (at a polite distance) another muskie, which was closer to the lure – look carefully to see the second (trailing) muskie(s); (d) Ignoring a lure overhead or bouncing down their head to stare at the camera, (e) Following a lure inches away, but never striking, and (f) Hanging out with a lake trout on a cold December day – look carefully to see the lake trout with the muskie. Only three fish in total were seen on the videos that day, so this muskie and lake trout were definitely together. |
