CAMERAS DOWN DEEP

Frankly, most fishermen spend the majority of their time not catching anything.  That includes me.  The important question during these slack periods is this: Are the fish down there just not biting, or are there no fish present at all? 

To answer this question I made some GoPro camera housings that could be sunk to the bottom in likely spots.  Then I would fish around the site to see what I could catch, and check out the video later.  Frequently I would catch nothing, and the cameras would show the area to be devoid of fish.  However, on occasion I would catch a few – and on these trips the videos did generally reveal lots of fish.  Usually more than my catch would suggest.
